1H23 CLO manager rankings by AUM

Creditflux published the latest update to our rankings of the CLO manager universe today. The new rankings provide a full and comprehensive view of CLO managers by their principal liabilities (debt and equity) as of 30 June 2023.

There’s no change at the top, with Blackstone Credit and Carlyle still in first and second place respectively in our global rankings. Both firms now have more than $50 billion of CLO assets under management, with a $10 billion lead over third-placed Credit Suisse Asset Management.

The biggest change in the table this time is for Sound Point, which jumped into fifth place after its recent partnership with Assured Guaranty. A little lower down Palmer Square also continued its expansion, moving up 4 places to become the 14th largest manager globally.

Turning to the regional tables, Carlyle is the largest US CLO manager and Blackstone the largest European CLO manager. In the middle market Golub continues to dominate the CLO space, with more than double the CLO AUM of second-placed Antares.

Correction: in our original ranking we miscalculated Polus Capital's AUM. We've updated the ranking now to the correct figure of $4.5 billion of total CLO AUM. Apologies to Polus about the error.

Correction: we were missing ArrowMark's Elevation CLO 2021-15 from the ranking. We've added that in now bringing the total for ArrowMark up to 16 deals with $5.81 billion of AUM. Apologies to ArrowMark for that error.
