A quieter second day of the 2nd IMN CLO Conference heard about the difficulty of comparing manager performance using metrics alone.

Nobody's asking me, but my advice would be to avoid a CLO management team that claims to be good at "interpretation of [the deal docs]". That's like a bank that manages its risk by "improving" its regulatory RWA model.
