The Last Tranche: rating bespokes, the mascot fanbase and AMRs coming into play
It's been a busy month for Creditflux with our journalists travelling between New York, Barcelona, Los Angeles and London. We encountered June gloom in California, but the over-arching theme across the various Creditflux conferences was one of positivity with talk centering on innovation in the CLO space and steady development in the CSO market.
Dan Alderson joins us on The Last Tranche podcast this week. As the deputy editor of Creditflux covering all things synthetic, Dan talks about the evolution of net-short language in debt documents and, on the brighter side, the growth of five-year bespokes and the potential for ratings to expand the investor base for CSOs.
Tanvi Gupta and Hugh Minch go on to discuss the ABS gathering in Barcelona and the inaugural Creditflux CLO conference in Los Angeles where attendees heard about how applicable margin resets were about to come into play and how CLO mascots are not a gimmick - they're helping CLO debt investors capture upside, and they're here to stay.
We close out the podcast by discussing recent market trends - particularly new and old CLO triple A investors.
