Eurex Clearing, the clearing arm of derivatives exchange Eurex, says it plans to build a European central counterparty for over-the-counter credit derivatives, initially focusing on credit indices.
The company says it is evaluating different formats for the system and is in talks with several infrastructure providers. It says its plan aims to complement current US initiatives with a European solution.
