Credit market snapshot: spreads end the day flat

Friday, September 30, 2011

Yesterday reversed the normal pattern in the credit market. Europe produced good news with the German parliament’s passage of the bail-out vote, but sentiment deteriorated later in the North American day, with reports of heavy selling of corporate bonds. Credit index volumes were relatively subdued, and ended the day flat. Europe is opening largely unchanged, but with bank spreads tighter.
