Henderson adds experienced credit analyst

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Henderson Global Investors has appointed Andrew Griffiths as analyst in its credit team. Griffiths joins a team of eight credit analysts, which is in turn part of a team of 22 credit specialists spanning investment grade, high yield, loans and ABS. He began work at the firm yesterday and reports to Stephen Thariyan, head of credit.

Griffiths has 16 years’ experience in credit analysis, making him one of Henderson’s most experienced credit analysts. He joins Henderson from Insight Investment where he had been a senior credit analyst for two years. Prior to this he held credit analyst roles at UBS, Pimco Europe and Deutsche Bank.

Griffiths' appointment follows the third anniversary of Henderson’s £330 million Ucits III Credit Alpha Fund, which was launched in July 2007. According to the firm, this absolute return fund uses a number of unconstrained ‘best ideas’ from Henderson’s credit analysts and fund managers. The fund has a performance target of Libor + 5% and since launch in July 2007, has provided an annualised return of 10.09% compared to a three month Libor annualised return of 3.54%. Investors include pension funds, fund of funds and discretionary managers.
