Central banker predicts regulation of sovereign CDS

The Financial Times and other sources report on new calls for regulation of sovereign credit default swaps. Mario Draghi, ECB board member and chairman of the G20 talking shop the Financial Stability Board, told a news conference yesterday that greater regulation of the market is likely, because sovereign CDS trading has systemic implications. He did not give any further details of the form that regulation is likely to take.
