Bank builds high yield research desk with senior hires

Nomura has today announced the hires of Ronan Clarke as head of high yield credit research for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and Karine Elias as senior high yield analyst.

Clarke will be based in London and has 10 years of experience in high-yield research, having held similar management roles at UBS and most recently Royal Bank of Scotland. Prior to this he was an industrials analyst at JPMorgan for four years.

Elias joins the firm from MF Global and has seven years of experience in high-yield credit research with RBS, UBS and Morgan Stanley. Elias will cover retail/consumer and gaming credits.

Nomura says it expects to continue growing its high yield platform to respond to increasing demand in the sector over the coming years.
