London-based Matrix Group has announced several hires for its recently established fixed income business. Matrix Corporate Capital, the company’s market-facing business, has hired six new fixed income specialists, reporting to joint fixed income heads Bill Blain and Jim St Johnson.

Maureen Osborne joins as a sales specialist focusing on the Nordic region, a region she was responsible for at Wachovia. Another sales hire is Elaine Hughes who previously worked at banks including Barclays, BNP Paribas and Dresdner. Meanwhile, James Berry joins from brokerage MINT where he worked on new trading platforms for cash and credit default swap trading.

As reported in Creditflux yesterday, structured credit specialist Tim Van den Brande has also joined the firm. He comes on board as senior fixed income salesperson covering Belgium, France and Luxembourg.

The other new hires are debt origination specialists Carter Kegel, who joins from Deutsche Bank, and Charles Stephens, who was most recently at Commerzbank.
