Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Cohen & Company has announced that it has hired a team that previously worked together at Guggenheim Capital Markets to form a new leveraged finance sales and trading business within its capital markets broker-dealer division. The business is led by Scott Siemers and Ken Casey join Cohen in New York as managing directors reporting to chief executive Chris Ricciardi.

Casey and Siemers worked together at Guggenheim until late last year, when they left for short stints at two other firms, Tejas Securities and then HFP Capital Markets. They are joined by sales specialists Larry Berger and Kevin McDonald, who were both also at HFP, as was trader Charles Womack. Another trader Brad Wendler most recently worked for Raymond James, while fellow high yield trader Alan Hunt and researcher Keith Gudhus both moved with Siemers and Casey from Guggenheim first to Tejas and then to HFP.
