Lehman and WaMu lead CDS trading, says GFI

In its monthly credit derivatives report, interdealer broker GFI says that financial credit default swaps continue to be the most active in the US, predominatly led by Lehman Brothers and Washington Mutual. In Europe, Vneshtorgbank and Russian Agricultural Bank dominate the banking sector, while Telecom Italia has impelled the telecom sector. In Asia, Bank TuranAlem, Aiful, Takefuji, JSC Kazkommertsbank and ACOM lead the financial services and banking sectors. Turkey, Russia, and Ukraine are currently the most active sovereigns.
