Reuters announces JRisk software launch

Monday, June 18, 2007

Reuters says it is launching a multi-asset class risk management solution tailored for hedge funds, called JRisk On Demand. Reuters says the hosted solution, which can be accessed using a standard web-browser interface, delivers real-time risk management tools directly to the individual manager’s desktop.

JRisk On Demand offers cross asset risk measures, VaR and stress testing, market data scenario analysis, P&L calculation and breakdown, limit management and additional risk measures such as hedge equivalents.

Reuters acquired Palo Alto-based Application Networks – JRisk’s developer – in June 2006. It says that the acquisition was driven by Application Networks’ state-of-the-art technology and experience in managing structured products and credit derivatives. JRisk offers solutions across credit trading, equity, interest rate derivatives, structured and hybrid products and treasury/money markets.
