Axa Investment Managers’ head of corporate structured credit, Laurent Gueunier, will step up to the post of head of structured finance for the Paris-based asset manager, according to an announcement from the firm. He takes over from Pierre-Emmanuel Juillard, who has left Axa to become a partner at Goldman Sachs in Asia.
Gueunier has worked for Axa IM since 2002, leading the development of the firm’s corporate structured credit business, which totals €21 billion in assets under management, including a large number of synthetic CDOs. Prior to joining Axa, he worked in JP Morgan’s structured credit business, and he began his career as a commodities trader with Societe General.
In his new role, Gueunier will have responsibility for a further €13 billion of assets, including CLOs, ABS and cat bonds. He will also join Axa IM’s executive committee.
