Bloomberg reports that well known CDO market figure Greg Mount has died, based on a statement from Greywolf Capital Management, where he was a partner. There is no information on the cause of death, which was described as sudden. Mount was 44 and leaves a wife and three sons.
Mount joined Greywolf in 2005 to set up a structured credit business. As a manager, the firm went on to launch two CDOs, a CLO and a CDO of ABS.
Before joining Greywolf, Mount worked for nine years at Goldman Sachs where he held a number of senior positions including head of structured products and head of portfolio credit derivatives. He also set up Goldman’s proprietary CDO investment business.
