CDO losses fell US regional banks

State regulators have closed six small banks in Illinois citing their exposure to CDOs and other loan losses. The six banks, the largest of which was Founders Bank, were all controlled by the same family and followed a similar business model, according to the FDIC, which transferred their assets and deposits to other US institutions.
