There are some sensitive souls in credit. When we included the phrase “bastard children” in an email alert last month, subscribers at two institutions were blocked from receiving their daily dose of Creditflux headlines.
One was a leading rating agency, where staff need – quite understandably – to be protected from the abusive language of their customers. More surprising is that a large interdealer broker does not allow its staff to read emails that include a word that could be a profanity (but which was not used in that way in this instance).
The email was not blocked by any large banks, where, presumably no business would get done if swearing were banned.
