Specialist fixed income asset manager European Credit Management has appointed David Thompson to the newly created role of head of marketing from 31 March. London-based Thompson, who has over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing roles, will report to Stephen Zinser, chief executive officer, and will be a member of the firm’s management committee.
Thompson joins from investment consultancy Redington where he was director and head of manager research. Prior to joining Redington, he was responsible for sales and marketing at Collingham Capital Management, a fund of hedge funds. Before that, he was at ABN Amro where he spent ten years in various sales positions, including UK and European head of institutional sales. He began his career as a fixed income trader and salesman at Lehman Brothers.
ECM manages around $12.5 billion of assets. Apart from investment grade corporate bonds, it also covers asset backed securities, bank capital, loans, high yield and European emerging market debt.
